Introduction to Red Box

Red Box is the leading dedicated voice specialist, empowering organisations to capture, secure and unlock the value of enterprise wide voice. With the most open and connected platform, we capture and transcribe voice communications across all major telephony platforms (legacy and new), for global enterprises and SMEs. Over the past 2 years, the business has been working on its next generation enterprise voice platform (Conversa), giving clients:

Conversa is now limited release to enterprise customers and has generated significant interest and momentum.

Department Description

The Red Box Development function drives the software delivery and technology strategy.  Our cross functional teams work with in the Scaled Agile Framework delivering incremental releases of both our Quantify and Conversa platforms to deliver customer value and support the company’s objectives.  Our products are built using modern technologies within event driven microservice architectures.

Role Description

As a Graduate developer, you will be working on next generation platforms.  You must have the drive and passion to build world class software using the latest technologies.

Reporting Line

This role reports to the Director of R&D

Primary Responsibilities

• Input into high level design conversations
• Take part in ceremonies associated with the Scrum and SAFe Framework providing accurate estimates at backlog refinement sessions
• Supporting the delivery of the team’s sprint goals
• Delivering unit or BDD tests as part of any completed work
• Developing high quality code to meet the defined software requirements
• Implementing automated development deployment pipelines working closely with DevOps
• Supporting the team in delivering high quality code by carrying out code reviews
• Supporting the use of automated acceptance tests wherever possible
• Be involved in release testing where necessary
• Assisting support and project delivery in bug fixing of released functionality

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Some coding experience is required, backgrounds in Physics and Maths for example will be considered.
